Description
Provides a one-time emergency financial assistance for rent, utility arrears, food and hygiene products. Utilized as a last-resort safety net for those who have exhausted all other resources.

Service offers:

  • one-time emergency financial assistance that may cover
    • rent arrears
    • utilities arrears (gas, power, water) and reconnection fees
    • food and hygiene basics if not enough support has been provided by a food bank, transportation passes

Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • individuals and families
  • residing in Lethbridge or South West Alberta (including Claresholm, Taber, and Vauxhall)
  • who have exhausted all available funding and resources
  • those in critical need of financial support
Application Process
Service Access: Application Required, To access service:
  • apply online, by phone, or in person
  • must provide two pieces of ID
  • must provide documentation of arrears owing
  • must have exhausted and applied to all funding availability (Alberta Works, Lethbridge Housing, Food Bank, AISH, City of Lethbridge Transit pass subsidy)
  • arrear payments are made directly to the service provider, landlord or gift cards for food, hygiene or transportation items
