Description
Offers a court-supervised drug treatment program for adults who are committing crimes to support their drug use and who want to change.

Service provides:

  • a drug treatment court designed to help break the cycle of crime and addiction by helping participants to get and stay drug-free and by providing the supports needed to live in recovery and re-engage with community

Includes:

  • in-patient and out-patient addiction treatment programming
  • weekly court appearances to speak with a justice
  • ongoing random and regular drug testing
  • weekly update reports and probation supervision of recognizance orders
  • monitoring of participant engagement, in collaboration with service providers
  • peer support, mentorship, and life skills coaching
  • psychological and therapeutic counseling services
  • assistance with housing, employment, mental health, and education supports
  • a variety supports and services to support their change

Participants need to accept responsibility for and deal with their addictions.

Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • adults who have been charged with drug-related or drug-driven offenses
  • who are ready and willing to change
The Drug Treatment Court Crown will determine eligibility based on such things as criminal history, current case information, risk to re-offend, and substance abuse history.

  • applications are processed first through the Drug Treatment Court Crown
