- Service provides compensation settlements to Status Indian and Inuit individuals who were placed in permanent care settings during the Sixties Scoop.
Services offers:
- compensation to Status Indian and Inuit peoples who were adopted by non-Indigenous families, became Crown wards or who were placed in permanent care settings during the Sixties Scoop
- eligible class members will receive an estimated $25,000 in compensation for harm suffered as a result of their experiences in the Sixties Scoop
- the deadline for applications expired in December 2019
- the Government of Canada will fund legal counsel for eligible class members
