Service provides:
- out-of-court procedures for dealing with youth crime
Committee panel members meet with the youth and parents or guardians to:
- discuss circumstances surrounding the offence
- reach an agreement on the sanctions with which the offender must comply within a certain time frame
Failure to complete sanctions agreement can result in appearing in court on the original charge.

- Yes, Service targeted to:
- first and second time young offenders
- who were 12 to 17 years when they committed the crime
- and who have committed minor, non-violent offences
