Provides special services and adaptive technologies that help persons with disabilities, homebound individuals, and older adults.

Service provides:

  • special services and adaptive technologies that help persons with disabilities, homebound individuals, and older adults

Services and technologies include:

  • home service delivery of library materials to customers unable to visit a library branch for 3 or more months
  • a book cart service provided regularly to most extended care facilities and seniors' lodges throughout the city
  • assistive materials such as large print books, Digital Accessible Information System (DAISY) books, and children's braille books
  • descriptive videos / DVDs
  • assistive technologies such as hand-held magnifiers, Library Equal Access Program (LEAP) computer workstations, and more

Some assistive technologies are only available at specific library branches. Library Takeout (contactless holds pickup service) and Personal Picks Packs available at most locations.
