Description
Provides programming to combat food insecurity for University of Alberta students, staff, and alumni up to five years after graduation.

Service offers:

  • programming to combat food insecurity for University of Alberta students including food hamper program, WECAN food baskets, cooking sessions. and a variety of other food programs

Campus Kitchens:

  • bi-weekly cooking sessions focused on low cost and time-friendly recipes

Food Pantry:

  • a place where people can drop in to both leave food donations and pick up food to take home

Hamper Program:

  • available after intake appointment
  • non-perishable and fresh food items to last 4 to 5 days
  • toiletries, baby food, and baby diapers also available
  • will accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
  • once registered, can receive a food hamper a maximum of once every 14 days (2 weeks)

WECAN Food Baskets

  • acts as the University Depot for the WECAN Food Basket Society
  • low cost fruit, vegetables and meats can be purchased on a monthly basis
