Description
Provides equipment to individuals with disability.

Service offers mobility equipment when all other funding source options have been exhausted, such as:

  • scooters (and some scooter accessories)
  • power wheelchairs (and some power wheelchair accessories)
  • hospital beds and mattresses (and some hospital bed adaptations)
  • stair lifts
  • porch lifts
  • adapted strollers
  • lift chairs
  • ceiling tracks
  • ramps
  • other equipment on a case-by-case basis

Application Process

A Notice of Assessment is required from the previous two years. Each request is assessed by the physical need for the equipment. Applicant may need to provide supporting documentation such as a doctor's prescription, a therapist assessment, or a letter of support from a professional.

Wait times vary between 6 and 12 months as program experiences a high level of demand.
