Description
Offers development of customized courses and mental wellness tools to support the unique needs of diverse groups and communities in Edmonton.

Service provides:

  • development of customized courses and mental wellness tools for organizations, groups, and communities
  • training and volunteer opportunities for individual community members to become ambassadors / facilitators
  • programming for organizations, groups, and communities that is designed to be delivered and facilitated by individual community members, called volunteer ambassadors, who are a part of those equity-seeking organizations, groups, and communities within Edmonton

Includes:

  • a variety of training programs, workshops, presentations, and information sessions developed for specific organizations, groups, and communities in co-operation with community partners, drawing on their specific needs and experiences to start the conversation about the realities of mental illness, stigma, and suicide
  • content that reflects the needs of the unique and individual community in Edmonton with an emphasis on strategies that promote resiliency and wellness and content based on lived experience

Eligibility
Yes, Customized courses and mental wellness tools targeted to:
  • equity-seeking organizations, groups, and communities
  • located in Edmonton
Ambassador training and volunteer opportunities targeted to:
  • community members
  • who reside in Edmonton
  • who are 18 years and older
  • from all backgrounds
  • from all levels of education and experience, from students to professionals, those working in various trades, youth, community elders, parents, and family members
  • with an interest in the program, lived experience with mental wellness or addiction challenges, or experience supporting others in these challenges
Volunteer ambassadors deliver and facilitate the customized courses and mental wellness tools designed for their specific communities.
