Pathways - Adult Learning Foundations

Service offers:

• basic skill improvement in reading, writing, math, and English as a second language
• 1-on-1 tutoring sessions where adult learners are paired with volunteer tutors by the literacy coordinator; the tutor and learner meet for 1 or 2 hours per week to work on improving the learners literacy skills
• digital skills support - education on how to use a laptop, computer, cell phone, or tablet how to use these devices as well as support adults with basic digital skills
• small group learning - opportunity to learn in small groups at a pace led by the learner

Tutors are provided with resources and training to help support their learner. Tutoring is an opportunity to get to know someone new and to support lifelong learning in adults.

• 18 years and older
• who are Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents, Temporary Foreign Workers, Inuit, Metis, or First Nation Peoples, or who have a visiting Visa

Waiting period varies. Contact for details. 

There is a small fee for classes. No fees for 1-on-1 tutoring. 
If students face barriers to learning, agency may support a fee reduction or waive fees for classes.
