- This service provides psychiatric consultation, assessment and treatment to children / youth and their families.
This service offers Psychiatric consultation, assessment and treatment recommendations to children and youth aged 6-18 referred through Access Mental Health from Pediatricians or Primary Care Physicians. Focus is on diagnosis, medication and treatment recommendations. After CAPS accepts referral, virtual or telephone intake is booked and completed with guardian or youth. Duration of involvement ranges from single appointment to maximum 3 months of follow-up. Consultation and assessment information is linked back to referring physician. If treatment recommendations include referral to other Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, the clinic will support with this. Please ensure that all legal guardians are aware of and consent to referral.

- Service Access: Professional Referral Required, Referrals by physician through Access Mental Health. Child or youth must be connected to a primary care physician who supports the referral.
