Operation Backpack

Service offers:

• free school supplies and backpacks

Donations needed includes:

• pencils, pens, highlighters
• markers, crayons, pencil, crayons
• erasers, scissors, glue, calculators, geometry sets
• pencil cases and boxes
• note books, lined paper, sketch pads
• duotangs, folders, binders
• lunch kits, water bottles
• monetary donations to cover cost of backpacks

• preschool to grade 12 students
• families dealing with financial strain or job loss
• low-income students returning to school in the fall
• immigrant families
• single parents

• register on website
• donations accepted through e-transfer to giving@citylightchurch.ca with the note “backpacks” in the comments, all monetary donations are tax receiptable
• donations are accepted in person via cash, cheques, credit and debit card payment
• contact the church office for details

Based on availability, program operates from June-August. School supplies is typically distributed during the end of August.
