- Provides support to Indigenous people accused within the Criminal Justice System.
Service offers:
- support to Indigenous people accused within the Criminal Justice System by providing services in and out of court
In-court services include:
- acting as a "friend of the court" to provide information to the court about community resources available
- translation services (where possible)
- entering pleas
- speaking to sentence and adjournment
- emotional support
Out-of-court services include:
- support to Indigenous people accused of crimes and Indigneous victims of crime
- conducting client intakes and preparing for cases
- information on legal rights
- assistance filling out forms, applications, and documents
