Includes:
- strategies to promote their child's development
- support for families experiencing challenging child behaviour, experiencing separation or divorce, or experiencing anxiety or coping challenges
- individual or group classes
- group discussions
- sharing experiences
- one-on-one support
- handouts and other community resources
Programs include:
- Kids Have Stress Too! - provides parents and caregivers with tools to better understand stress and to help their children respond to it in healthy and constructive ways to enhance resilience and coping
- Cross Cultural Parenting - a 5 session parenting program to help newcomer / immigrant parents address general parenting issues like parent-child communication and discipline, as well as the unique challenges of cross-cultural parenting; helps promote healthy family life, development of critical awareness of cultural values and expectations, and learning practical skills for positive cross-cultural parenting and active participation in Canadian society
- Circle of Security - helps parents and caregivers understand their child's emotional world by learning to read emotional needs, support their child's ability to successfully manage emotions, enhance the development of their child's self-esteem, and honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure
- Bringing Baby Home - a 4 week evening series, based on the work of Dr. John and Julie Gottman, for expectant couples and couples with children up to 18 months to practice skills to stay connected as a couple, build an emotional bank account, find healthy, constructive ways to solve problems, examine the importance of fathers, and create shared meaning
- Triple P Positive Parenting Program - a parenting program that offers a toolbox of strategies addressing areas like tantrums, bedtime routines, setting rules and limits with teens, and raising confident, resilient children
