Description
Provides a 8-month certificate program that prepares students for an entry level position in the human services field and includes a 3-month practicum in the social services field.

Service offers:

  • full-time program that prepares students by offering a variety of courses
  • an approach that provides students with a strong foundation of knowledge to enter into the human services field

courses include:

  • Introduction to Human Services, Communications in Counselling
  • theories, methods and models
  • addiction studies
  • Indigenous studies; history, residential schools, healing methodologies
  • domestic violence and trauma informed care

certificates include:

  • first aid
  • suicide and crisis intervention
  • leadership and ethical decision making
  • clinical notes and observations
