Provides assistance to new Canadians adjusting to life in Calgary.

Service offers:

  • financial coaching and literacy
  • orientation to life in Canada
  • information and referral to community services
  • assistance in identifying and reaching your settlement goals
  • welcome events and networking opportunities
  • volunteer opportunities
  • tax clinics for assistance with the current year tax returns
  • Life Skills Training for Immigrant Women - Communication and Problem Solving Skills - free training for immigrant women

Workshop series to enhance life skills: overcome isolation, cope and overcome challenges to create positive change in life.


Affiliation: Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration.
Key Provider: Settlement and Community Development Workers who come from a culturally diverse background.
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
  • live-in caregivers and provincial nominees with work permit
  • landed immigrants and refugees who have been in Canada longer that 3 years and require assistance in settlement

  • specify preferred language for service when calling
  • if no appointment, people who have booked appointments are seen first
