Y Parent Program

Service offers:

• an opportunity for young mothers to complete their high school education through independent study with the support of a certified teacher

• an opportunity to learn valuable life skills including parenting, child development, and interpersonal skills

• participants access to the YMCA fitness facilities; young mothers can access the YMCA fitness centre, classes, and swimming lessons to support a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families

• childcare conveniently located within a YMCA daycare centre which provides an opportunity for children to receive on-site care while mothers are attending school

• 21 years and under
• female
• who are pregnant or parenting
• and who are registered in the Medicine Hat Public School Division

Membership fees vary and only pertain to those who want to sign up to use health, fitness, and aquatics facilities. Financial assistance is available to offset these costs, if needed.
