Community Outreach Assessment Support Team (COAST)
Alberta Health Services - Edmonton Zone
- Description
- Deliver a recovery-oriented service to children, youth, and adults with complex service needs in the Edmonton zone that empowers the person and their supports to promote, achieve, and sustain wellness.
COAST is a cross-ministerial initiative between Recovery Alberta and Persons with Developmental Disabilities, Family Support for Children with Disabilities, and Children and Family Services. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, we support children, youth, and adults with complex service needs (such as intellectual disability and challenging behaviours/high risk). The team aims to support the person, family, caregivers, community, and larger systems through assessment, recommendations, interventions, education, and support to transition effectively. COAST has acces to specialized psychiatry support utilizing a shared care model with community physicians.
