- Community addiction services are available to adults concerned about their own or their family member's substance use or gambling.
The focus of intervention is short term recovery. Addictions counsellors help clients generate achievable goals for stabilization and change.
Services are available for adults and older adults concerned about substance use or gambling and can be concurrent with other mental health concerns (of mild to moderate level).
Addiction services (for clients with alcohol, or other drug, or gambling concerns) may include:- assessment
- treatment
- referrals to treatment centres and other supports
- short-term outpatient treatment services (includes individual, family and/or group counselling).
