Youth Suicide Grief Support Groups

Service provides:

• 3 weekly suicide grief support groups for youth offered over 12 weeks (one for ages 12 to 14, one for 15 to 17,and one for ages 18 to 25)
• a bi-weekly drop-in group offered to provide ongoing support as needed for youth after the completion of the 12-week group
• co-facilitated by a youth with lived experience of loss to suicide

Topics covered include:

• emotional regulation
• beliefs and values
• building resiliency
• self care
• and coping strategies

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - Edmonton is accredited by the American Association of Suicidology (AAS). All facilitators are supported through monthly clinical supervision with a psychologist and other trained colleagues.
