Volunteer Co-ordination and Community Development

Service provides:

• community development - identifies program possibilities that are initiated by the community and are preventative in nature; works with a variety of individuals and community organizations to develop and support community activities and initiatives that fall within the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) mandate
• volunteer co-ordination for FCSS programs and other Government contract or community programs operated by the society

Includes:

• volunteer opportunities
• volunteer appreciation event - recognizes efforts of community volunteers
• Compass Program - supports caregivers in their journey to provide care and support for others
• Snow Angels - partners screened volunteer snow shovelers with seniors requesting the need for snow shoveling services during the winter months
• Community Block Party Assistance Program - provides activities kit plus reimbursement for specific items once the block party and host has been approved through the Town of Barrhead and the program co-ordinator
