Provides support to low income Calgarians with filing their personal Alberta income tax, as well as navigating and accessing government benefits.

Service offers:

  • support with filing personal Alberta income tax as well as navigating and accessing government benefits
  • simple tax filing with a volunteer provided through the Canada Revenue Agencies Community Volunteer Income Tax Preparation program
  • support from a Community Advocate in discussing and getting support with accessing government benefits

Program can help Calgarians file up to the last 10 years of personal income tax.

Yes, Service targeted to individuals:
  • living on a low income (below Low Income Cut Off)
  • who are filing simple personal Alberta taxes only
Clients must have access to their tax documents, or a MyCRA account details, in order to complete an auto-fill form. They must also provide a photo ID and Social Insurance Number for filing.
Application Process
Service Access: Registration Required, To access service, visit website ( to register online. Once registered, clients will be connected to staff once they are near the top of the wait list to discuss the submission of their supporting documents and booking an appointment.

During tax season there can be a 6 to 8 week wait time depending on demand. Current wait times are outlined on the website.
