- Description
- Provides confidential basic literacy, numeracy, and digital skills and skills for learning to support to ALL adult Albertans.
Service offers:
- basic skill improvement in reading, writing, math, and English as a second language
- 1-on-1 tutoring sessions where adult learners are paired with volunteer tutors by the literacy coordinator; the tutor and learner meet for 1 or 2 hours per week to work on improving the learners literacy skills
- digital skills support - education on how to use a laptop, computer, cell phone, or tablet how to use these devices as well as support adults with basic digital skills
- small group learning - opportunity to learn in small groups at a pace led by the learner
Tutors are provided with resources and training to help support their learner. Tutoring is an opportunity to get to know someone new and to support lifelong learning in adults.
