Basic Needs Fund

Service offers:

• support to low-income Calgarians in navigating out of an unforeseen financial crisis
• includes support with:
  • rental arrears and eviction notices
  • utility arrears and disconnection notices
  • first month's rent and damage deposits
  • or unforeseen medical expenses

• who have attempted to receive funding through Alberta Works Emergency Fund on 1-877-644-9992
• residing in Calgary or surrounding areas such as Airdrie, Chestermere, Cochrane, High River, Okotoks, and Strathmore
• living on a low income (below the low income cut off), or experiencing a temporary financial crisis
• who are sustainable (have a monthly income high enough to cover their basic needs under normal circumstances)

1. photo ID for all applicants
2. a copy of a signed Rent Report or Lease Agreement (if applicable)
3. a copy of most recent Utility Statement (if applicable)
4. bank statements showing the last 90 days of transactions for all applicants
5. proof of income

Wait times vary, based on triage.

Annual membership fee $5.00

Membership is not required to access services.

Closed between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM for lunch. Closed on statutory holidays.

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM are by appointment.
