Offers settlement services in rural communities.

Service offers:

  • orientation to Canadian life
  • life skills development and supports
  • community connections

Includes:

  • assistance with accessing government and community programs
  • referrals to community services including education, language learning, employment, and family support programs
  • workshops on Canadian culture, citizenship, job readiness, and community resources
  • support for families and students in adjusting to Canadian schools (Settlement Workers in Schools / SWIS)
  • casual English language learning and skills development opportunities
  • workshops on financial literacy, basic computer skills, employment standards, and more
  • child and youth personal development programs
  • access to mental health supports
  • cross-cultural bridging guidance
  • personal goal setting through the development of a settlement plan
  • volunteer opportunities
  • child and youth programs (such as Kids Club, summer programming)
  • field trips and local experiences
  • opportunities to meet other newcomers and established Canadians
