To provide and support affordable living opportunities for St. Albert residents.

Service provides:

  • safe, affordable living through leadership, pursuit of funding, education, advocacy, and housing development
  • additional rental supplements to eligible individuals as funding permits
  • information and referral services
  • facilitation of the HOMEConnection program

HOMEConnection program includes:

  • bridging program for up to 1 year to assist individuals and families of modest means transition to stable, safe, affordable, and healthy living arrangements
  • temporary rental supplement is provided to allow time to establish plans and take the action needed to move to more stable living; program capacity is limited to the level of funds raised
  • requirement for participants to partner with an appropriate community services agency to receive individualized support throughout the program

  • individuals
  • or parents / caregivers with children
  • who have low income
HOMEConnection program targeted to:
  • 18 to 64 years
  • with regular source of income to help pay rent through any combination of employment,
    pension, income support and Alberta Works, child support, family member, Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), employment insurance (EI), and mor
  • who do not hold a mortgage and / or have assets exceeding $25,000
  • who are not currently receiving any other rental subsidies
  • who agree to work with a local service agency
  • and do not exceed the core needs income threshold by more than 15 percent

Family priority and income level is taken into account when processing applications. The HOMEconnection program is funded entirely through donations and charitable fundraising. As such, program capacity is limited to the level of funds raised.
