Description
Assists families in their own home as they learn about and respond to the needs of their children who are diagnosed or possible fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).

Service offers:

  • intensive supports for 6 to 18 months to families with children affected by fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD)

Includes:

  • helping caregivers to access diagnostic services
  • providing tools and strategies for adjustment in living with children who have FASD
  • making referrals to a variety of services including counselling services and parenting support groups
  • a monthly parent support group
  • raising awareness in the community about FASD
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to families with children who are:
  • 21 years and younger
  • and diagnosed with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) or who demonstrate strong indicators of prenatal exposure to alcohol or drugs
