- Assists families in their own home as they learn about and respond to the needs of their children who are diagnosed or possible fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
Service offers:
- intensive supports for 6 to 18 months to families with children affected by fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD)
Includes:
- helping caregivers to access diagnostic services
- providing tools and strategies for adjustment in living with children who have FASD
- making referrals to a variety of services including counselling services and parenting support groups
- a monthly parent support group
- raising awareness in the community about FASD
- Eligibility
- Yes, Service targeted to families with children who are:
- 21 years and younger
- and diagnosed with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) or who demonstrate strong indicators of prenatal exposure to alcohol or drugs
