Description
The Sleep Medicine Program at the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioural Sleep Medicine Program offer consultations, sleep studies if indicated and follow-up for patients suspected of a primary sleep disorder.

Such disorders include:

  • Narcolepsy and other daytime sleepiness disorders
  • Parasomnias
  • Restless legs syndrome/periodic limb movement
  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea (without suspected pulmonary or cardiac comorbidities)
  • Shift work sleep disorder
  • Disorders of timing of the sleep-wake cycle and
  • Insomnia disorder (the only treatment offered is through our Behavioural Sleep Service with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi))

Key Provider: psychiatrists (sleep medicine specialist), psychologists, registered nurses (RNs)

Yes, Individuals 18 years and older can be referred for this service.
