Offers employment resources for individuals with disabilities who are actively seeking employment.

Service offers:

  • employment resources for individuals with disabilities who are actively seeking employment
  • GET - Work Youth Employment Transition Program - person-directed assistance to youth who self-identify as having a disability to identify, prepare for, seek, acquire, and retain employment that matches their interests and abilities
  • MentorAbility - a mentoring experience in which job seekers with disabilities are matched with individual mentors (employers or business leaders) to explore career opportunities

GET - Work Youth Employment Transition Program includes:

  • career exploration
  • action plan development
  • post-secondary training and certification opportunities
  • resume development
  • individual and group learning
  • employment preparation
  • job search support
  • employment placement
  • training and job retention supports

MentorAbility includes:

  • speed-dating style informational interviews for job seekers with disabilities to learn from business leaders
  • an opportunity for education and awareness to be shared between employers and people with disabilities
  • a Canada-wide network of employment service providers and employers working together to create opportunities for people with disabilities
  • help to employers to learn how to include people with disabilities in the workplace

Eligibility

  • 18 years and older
  • experiencing disability
  • actively seeking employment
  • and legally entitled to work in Canada
