Provides inpatient assessment, stabilization and treatment for adults with acute mental illness.

In the North Zone, there are three designated units:

  • Grande Prairie Regional Hospital
  • Northern Lights Regional Healthcare Centre, Fort McMurray
  • St. Therese Health Care centre, St. Paul

These units provide care for formal and voluntary patients who are admitted with acute psychiatric illnesses that require hospitalization.
