Community Support Services

Service provides:

• a 1-on-1 support program that offers men and women safety and healing while they rebuild their lives from an unhealthy or abusive relationship
• support groups - Abuse Information Group and Self-Esteem Group

Includes:

• peer support groups and trauma counselling
• support and advocacy with partnering agencies, legal issues related to family court and protection orders, financial planning for independence, and self-care
• help with understanding healthy relationships, safety planning, parenting struggles, boundary setting, addictions, legal issues, financial independence, self-care, and assertiveness
• emotional support, advocacy, and referrals
• listening without judgment, standing by the client in the face of confrontation, and / or giving them a safe place to cry and heal
• free childcare available for clients

• 1-on-1 support - men or women who have already left or are still struggling within an unhealthy or abusive relationship
• support groups - open to all women, regardless of whether they’ve stayed at the shelter

• no sign-up is required to attend the support groups
