  • a process where complaints about federal government departments, agencies, laws, or policies are received and reviewed
  • referral to programs and services available in an individual's city or province to provide assistance
  • recommendations to the federal government on how to better tailor policies and laws to the needs and concerns of victims, and reports on those recommendations publicly
