Community Inclusion Program

Service offers:

• opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to explore, discover, and connect to the recreation and volunteer activities of their choice

Includes:

• initial supports to connect the participant with an activity of interest
• gradually fading out supports, while increasing natural supports, within the chosen activity
• increasing community awareness of persons with disabilities

Purpose of programming is to:

• increase awareness of community-based opportunities
• provide opportunities to network and develop work relationships
• increase confidence and self-esteem
• promote a positive self-image
• increase interdependence
• increase participation in leisure time interests
• strengthen interpersonal skills
• promote lifelong learning

• 18 years and older
• with a developmental disability
• who are eligible to receive supports through Persons with Developmental Disabilities
• with a desire to participate in community activities, groups, and events
• and who have the ability to learn required skills to participate in activities interdependently, with minimal staff support
