- Provides income support to parents or guardians that took time away from work after the death or disappearance of a child.
Service provides:
- income support for parents or guardians that took leave from work to cope with the death or disappearance of a child
- income support of $450.00 a week for a maximum of two years
- Eligibility
- Yes, Service targeted to parents:
- with custody of a child age 25 or younger at the time of the incident
- with a missing or deceased child as a result of a Criminal Code of Canada offence
- that have earned a minimum of $6,500 in the previous calendar year
- on leave from employment or working a maximum of 20 hours a week
- with valid social insurance number
- not receiving Employment Insurance or Quebec Parental Insurance Plan benefits
- that have not been charged with committing a probable Criminal Code of Canada offence which led to the death or disappearance of the child
