- Offers a list of regional fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) service networks located throughout Alberta that provide community-based supports and services to Albertans with FASD and their caregivers.
Service provides:
- a list of regional fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) service networks that deliver FASD-informed services across the province
FASD service network programming includes:
- assessment and diagnosis
- prevention and awareness
- outreach and support services for people with FASD and their caregivers
- Parent Child Assistance Program (PCAP) - a voluntary program for women who are pregnant, are planning to become pregnant, or who have recently given birth and are dealing with alcohol and / or drug use, that provides support in creating a stable family environment and in making healthy choices for themselves and their families
Outreach and support may include:
- support groups / meetings
- advocacy and outreach services
- transition planning
- employment supports
- counselling
- therapy groups
- summer camp
- support throughout the assessment and diagnosis process
- helping individuals with setting goals and creating a plan to achieve them
