Provides housing options for families, seniors and individuals that require specialized housing, and building construction standards for affordable housing.

Service provides:

  • Find Housing directory - a search tool for Albertans in need of housing
  • Design and Technical Guidelines - outline the minimum standards required when developing provincially-funded housing in Alberta

Directory includes referrals to:

  • Community Housing Program - subsidized rental housing to low-income families, seniors, and individuals who cannot afford other housing options due to circumstance
  • Seniors Self-contained Housing Program / Seniors Apartments - apartment-style housing to seniors who are able to live independently with or without assistance of community based services
  • Seniors Lodge Program - rooms, meals, services, and recreational opportunities for independent seniors
  • Specialized Housing - available for individuals who have special housing needs
  • Rent Supplement Program - helps make rental accommodation more affordable by providing a subsidy directly to tenants
