Description
Offers warming spaces during cold weather for people experiencing homelessness in St. Albert.

Service provides:

  • daytime warming space at various city facilities across St. Albert

Includes:

  • St. Albert Place
  • City of St. Albert - Beaudry Place
  • Servus Credit Union Place
  • Nakî Transit Centre and Park and Ride - heated and is open to the public
  • St. Albert Public Library - St. Albert Place and The Library at Jensen Lakes
  • St. Albert Centre

Additional supports:

  • St. Albert Transit operators are trained to stop and provide assistance, if required, to someone in distress; individuals will be bused at no cost to any location along the bus route that is near a warming facility within St. Albert or an emergency and overnight shelter in St. Albert or Edmonton
  • St. Albert RCMP or Municipal Enforcement Services may encounter and assist or can be called to assist unhoused residents in need of shelter in urgent situations after hours

  • if someone is in medical distress, call 9-1-1 immediately
Cold weather response is activated when tempertures are forecast to be -20 degrees Celsius or colder.
