Description
NOTE: COVID-19 UPDATE # FOR THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM (INCLUDING YOUTH MATTERS AND HERA), STAFF ARE CURRENTLY WORKING FROM HOME AND MEETING CLIENTS OUTSIDE OR REMOTELY VIA PHONE OR VIDEO. Provides a specialized year-round education program for female youth who are at risk of or are currently experiencing sexual exploitation.

Service offers:

  • a therapeutic, relationship-focused approach to support girls at risk to develop skills, commit to their education, re-examine their lives and move forward in a positive direction
  • academic classroom with learning supports
  • in-home family support
  • experiential learning opportunities
  • support and connection to community resources
  • referrals and access to therapy¬†
  • mentorship opportunities¬†
Affiliation: Calgary Board of Education, Family and Community Support Services - The City of Calgary, United Way of Calgary and AreaKey Provider: behaviour support workers (classroom), family connectors, mentors, teachers (classroom), support coaches
