Offers various services to newcomers to facilitate their settlement, resettlement, and integration in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas.

Service provides:

  • various services to newcomers to facilitate their settlement, resettlement, and integration in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas

May include:

  • individual and group information sessions on various aspects of life in Canada such as housing, education, health, and roles and responsibilities
  • orientation to life in Canada and available community supports and resources
  • referral to available community and government resources and appropriate social services
  • interpretation and translation services for newcomers with language barriers
  • social, recreational, and multicultural networking opportunities
  • supportive counselling
  • academic, social, and recreational supports for newcomer children and youth at various schools in Grande Prairie

  • naturalized Canadian citizens
  • refugee claimants
  • permanent residents
  • conventional refugees
  • live-in caregivers
