Service provides:
- a range of free programs, services, and supports that focus on building well-being and resiliency for children, youth, parents, and caregivers
Programs include:
- Parenting Support - a range of 1-on-1 parenting supports and services including information on child and youth development, discussing challenge, setting parent-led goals, referrals to other agencies, and connections to community resources; support is available in-person, virtually, or over the phone
- Home Visitation - provides weekly in-home support for parents in raising healthy, safe, and secure children; provides assistance with addressing pregnancy concerns and accessing prenatal support, learning more about child development, developing and fostering positive parent-child interactions, focusing on family strengths and needs, reaching personal and family goals, accessing community resources, and building support networks
- Child Development - teaches what can be expected at various ages and stages of a child's development with an easy-to-use tool called the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ); this is a series of questionnaires designed to help monitor a child's physical, intellectual, and emotional development at regular intervals; the results provide insight into a child's expected developmental milestones; a team member will be in touch to discuss the results, celebrate achievements, and provide resources to continue supporting the child's growth
- Parent Education Workshops - focus on strengthening caregivers' parenting skills and knowledge related to brain development, children and youth's developmental milestones and age-appropriate expectations, positive discipline, creating safe, responsive, and nurturing environments, well-being, and resiliency
- Family Programs - provides a variety of registered and drop-in programs for children, youth, and their parents / caregivers to promote positive parent-child interactions, healthy child and youth development, and social connections among families
- Wecan Food Basket - offers the opportunity to purchase nutritious food at an affordable price
