Offers multiple programs that aid the strategic and structural empowerment of newcomer and equity-deserving youth in community, school, and sport.

Service provides:

  • strategic and structural empowerment of newcomer and equity-deserving youth in community, school, and sport

Includes:

  • After School Sports for Newcomer Youth - inclusive sports opportunities for newcomer youth such as soccer, dance
  • Anti-Racism in Sport Training - training and resources for sports organizations and other facilities on anti-racist development and planning for programs, operations, and organizations
  • Empowering Leadership in Youth Through Community Action - a strengths-based community development opportunity for equity-deserving youth to build leadership skills and increase community well-being
  • community mobilization and development through community initiatives and other common areas of interest of individuals and communities
  • capacity building through engagement, networking, volunteering, skills development, and provision of responsive and outcome-based programs and supports
  • education and skill-building regarding diversity, inclusion, and accommodation for newcomers and Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) people

  •  residents of the greater Edmonton area
Eligibility varies based on programming:
  • After School Sports for Newcomer Youth - equity-deserving youth 24 years and younger
  • Anti-Racism in Sport Training - sports organizations and facilitators
  • Empowering Leadership in Youth Through Community Action - equity-deserving youth 24 years and younger
Additional eligibility criteria may apply and may be flexible depending on program.
