- Offers career mentoring for English as a second language (ESL) mentees by volunteer professional mentors.
Service provides:
- volunteer professional mentors who meet 1-on-1 with an English as a second language (ESL) mentee for career mentoring
Includes:
- connecting professional mentors to skilled newcomer mentees
- help for the mentee to find work or build their career
- the opportunity to volunteer as a mentor
- Eligibility
- Yes, Service targeted to:
- 18 years and older
- who are Naturalized Canadian citizens (people who were born outside of Canada and became citizens later), permanent residents, protected persons under the Canadian Refugee and Protection Act who can legally work in Canada, and Ukrainian newcomers (registered under the Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET))
- with a Canadian Langage Benchmark (CLB) level of 4 or higher
- and who have some college or university education and / or related work experience in their field or chosen career
