Description
Provides fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food items, as well as household / personal care items for individuals and families in need.

Service provides:

  • food hampers with 7 to 10 days worth of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food items and household / personal care items that may be accessed 6 times in a 12 month period
  • Help Yourself Shelf program that offers bread and extras that are available with no qualifications or application needed

Also accepts donations of non-perishable food items.

Affiliation: Partnered with Okotoks Family Resource Centre (OFRC).

Application Process
Service Access: See below, To access service:
  • call for more information or to apply
  • personal information and identification will be requested for each person listed on application
  • appointment needed for food hamper pickup hampers will continue to be collected in the parking lot, outside of Loading Bay 114
  • individuals and families may self-refer for their first 6 hampers, but if further assistance is needed they will then be referred to Okotoks Family Resource Centre to determine eligibility
  • drop in to access Help Yourself Shelf program; 2 clients permitted at a time during COVID-19, provided all safety protocols are followed
  • donations may be dropped off during donation drop-off hours; non-perishable food donations are encouraged to be dropped off at the donation bins located in all of the grocery stores in Okotoks during the winter months
