Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit

Service offers:

• $500 per week for up to a maximum of 6 weeks, for workers who are unable to work for at least 50% of the week because they contracted COVID-19, self-isolated, or have underlying conditions, are undergoing treatments or have contracted other sicknesses that would make them more susceptible to COVID-19

• individuals can apply retroactively for periods 61 to 63 until February 16, 2022 if they are eligible
• extended until May 7, 2022

• unable to work at least 50% of their scheduled work week because they are self-isolating for one of the following reasons:
  • sick with COVID-19 or may have COVID-19
  • advised to self-isolate due to COVID-19
  • an underlying health condition that puts you at greater risk of getting COVID-19

• call 1-800-959-8281 to apply

• Social Insurance Number (SIN)

• assessed tax return, notice of assessment or reassessment, other tax document, or be signed in to CRA My Account

Direct deposit can be expected within 3-5 business days. Mailed cheques can be expected in 10-12 business days.
