Includes:
- up to 24 hours of continuous support can be offered if resources are available
- repsite for family members or caregivers to rest or sleep
- support in the last days of life
- a booklet that the vigil companion will fill at the bedside that may be presented to family members following the death
- volunteers to sit with the family at the bedside if they feel a need for support
