Description
Provides special assistance and accommodations that support the ability of students with disabilities to achieve their academic goals and participate in, contribute to, and benefit from the institution's programs, services, and activities.

Service offers:

  • equitable access to the post-secondary environment for students with visual, hearing, physical, emotional, learning, or other disabilities
  • assistance with schedule 4 funding
  • test accommodations that may include 2x or 1.5x additional time for exams, tests, and quizzes, private room, word processor, and use of a calculator

  • classroom accommodations that may include ability to tape-record lectures, use of a note taker, educational assistant, laptop, and preferential seating

  • out-of-class accommodations that may include access to a tutor, access to an academic strategist, alternate format textbooks, speech dictation software, and a screen reader

Accommodations are dependent upon the student's disability, supporting paperwork as well as academic requirements. Offices are currently closed to in-person visits due to COVID-19 and staff can only be reached by e-mail.
