Campus Security

Service provides:

• regular patrols of the campus and retricted access areas, keeping a watchful eye out for hazards, suspicious activity, and security risks
• information and general assistance to the campus community
• opportunity to report suspicious, hazardous, or inappropriate conditions or activities to the proper authority
• support that expedites, assists, and supplements the services of external emergency response agencies

Includes:

• security staff on a 24-hour basis
• a log of all unusual incidents for future reference
• emergency first aid service
• lost and found
• Behavioural Support and Intervention Team (BSIT) - a team of professionals that is trained to respond appropriately to difficult situations; early intervention helps BSIT be proactive and take steps to intervene when people need help; all reports are treated confidentially and can be submitted anonymously

• call 9-1-1 before contacting security if there is a serious incident in progress where life or property is in danger
• submit an Incident Report to the Behavioural Support and Intervention Team when a disruptive or concerning behaviour is witnessed
