Fosters equality and reduces discrimination by providing public information and education programs, and by helping people resolve human rights complaints.

Service provides:

  • an independent commission created by the Government of Alberta established to carry out the functions under the Alberta Human Rights Act

Includes:

  • public information and education on human rights, racism and discrimination, diversity, and inclusion
  • information about the human rights complaint process in Alberta
  • consultation services
  • confidential inquiry line for information about a specific issue or a general inquiry
  • referrals to other agencies that offer relevant programs and services
  • complaint resolution services for complaints of discrimination under the jurisdiction of the Alberta Human Rights Act
  • tribunal dispute resolution and tribunal hearings
