Description
Offers home supports to residents of the community whose ability to manage on their own is limited.

Service provides:

  • home supports to residents of the community whose ability to manage on their own is limited and do not have family or friends to help them with various home duties

Includes:

  • meal planning and preparation
  • light snow shoveling or gardening
  • cleaning and organizing refrigerators
  • making beds and changing linens
  • cleaning bathrooms
  • machine washing and ironing
  • other light housekeeping such as dusting, washing floors, and vacuuming

Home support workers must be in the home for a minimum of 1 hour per visit and a maximum of 10 hours per month.

Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to residents of Birch Hills County, Municipal District of Spirit River, the Town of Spirit River, or the Village of Rycroft who fall under one of the following categories:
  • people 65 years and older

  • people with a disability

  • new mothers (short-term only)

  • people recovering from surgery, illness, or operation (short-term only)

  • people grieving the death of a loved one
