Provides newcomers with information needed to make informed settlement decisions.

Service provides:

  • help understanding life in Canada including laws, rights, and the democratic system
  • the tools to support individuals to take charge of their own settlement and integration journeys and effectively navigate Canadian systems

Includes:

  • assistance with accessing health care, housing, income support, food resources, and transportation
  • assistance completing government forms and advocacy to access government programs and offices
  • immigration related information and referrals
  • a Commissioner of Oaths service

Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to newcomers who are:
  • permanent residents
  • Convention refugees
  • live-in caregivers
  • or protected persons as defined in Section 95 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
