Therapeutic and Counselling Services

Service provides:

• therapeutic and counselling services with a holistic and community-oriented approach, connecting newcomers to social workers and other services to enhance their resilience and ability to function in their new environment

Includes:

• therapeutic counselling

• psychotherapy

• crisis intervention

• support, advocacy, and social work services

• interpretation services to assist communication during therapeutic sessions

• tools to personally build resilience, reduce social isolation, and bridge cultures

• techniques to better manage stress and anger

• no limits on the number of sessions provided

• transportation support to make access to therapeutic sessions easier

All sessions are confidential. Services are also offered online or in schools and in homes when feasible.

• immigrants and refugees regardless of the length of stay in Canada (immigration status)
• children 17 years and younger of parents born outside of Canada

• contact to self-refer
• referrals also accepted from health care providers and community agencies
